A very enlightening book.It is a great read and allows the reader to see and understand the importance of family worship and the time they share as a family in the discussion and learning of the Bible and the things of God. In todays society very few families get together to discuss religion and God in their life and hearts. Many attend a ceremonial meeting at a church or temple and leave everything to some man in a pulpit who most of the time knows little more if any than those who attend.How can you worship God in a facility where people gather and most do not know anything about God , nor do they agree on anything He said to do? Family worship is a foundation the entire worship process hangs on.Yes one should seek God on their own in quiet meetings to address things in life and family, however it is the Entire Family Unit that God after all structured to represent His Love. He deems a man to love his wife as He loves the church and gave his life for it.IT is not the building nor group or denomination or man made doctrine that makes up Gods True Church.No, it is His people and those people joined as one in common knowledge and understanding of His word and His will and ways. And that begins at Home, with Family worship, and study and growing in His grace and mercy. This Book illustrates those needs and how to proceed to make Family worship a foundation that the true loving Church of God is based upon, after all, WE are the Family of God and He our Spiritual leader and guide, just as it is in the home between a husband and his wife and their children, joined as one in reverence and true humbleness in God Himself, where His Spirit will minister to them simply by Family Worship.

Amazing book that is convicting and inspiring

Alexander's treatment of the many benefits of family worship inspired us to make a regular habit of household devotions. It has truly been a blessing.
This is THE classic work on the subject, forgotten and much neglected among today's evangelicals, but foundational for every Christian who wants to pass his or her faith on to his children, something that ought to be understood not only as a good thing, but a duty under the First Commandment.
I absolutely love this book! So much so I purchased a paper back copy when I was done with my version, just to have it in my library. There is such a great mix of solid theology with heart for the souls of ones family. These truths are vastly needed in our time as we see the breakdown of families and apathy from husbands and fathers. Great exhortation.
